On this page

In short

For Honor Codex (FHC) is an unofficial fan site for For Honor (rated 18+) — not affiliated with Ubisoft.

We do not run ads, analytics trackers, or marketing cookies. You can browse most of the site without an account. The sections below explain what we store depending on how you use FHC: visitor, anonymous guest, or signed-in account.

Visitor — no account, no guest profile

If you only read the codex, Info Hub, or champion pages:

  • We do not ask for your name or email.
  • Language and theme preferences may be saved in your browser (cookie / local storage) until you clear site data.
  • Codex and changelog text is loaded from a public Google Sheets export on our server. Your browser does not send personal data to Google for that.
  • We do not use Vercel Analytics or advertising pixels.

Anonymous guest

If you play as Anonymous (no Google/GitHub sign-in):

  • A random client ID and your chosen guest avatar are stored in your browser and on our server so we can link your runs on this device.
  • We store game runs (game, score, duration, outcome/metadata) and optional leaderboard opt-in.
  • Guest data stays until you clear browser data and/or we remove inactive guest records during routine maintenance.
  • Clearing site data in your browser removes the local part; server-side guest rows may remain until purged.

Signed-in account

If you sign in with Google or GitHub:

  • We receive what the provider shows on its consent screen (typically email, display name, avatar URL, provider user ID). We never see your provider password.
  • A session cookie keeps you signed in until you log out or it expires.
  • We store your profile (XP, level, achievements, equipped avatar/banner/decoration/title/page background, visibility settings, leaderboard opt-in, favorites).
  • We store game runs, aggregated stats, in-app notifications, and optional Web Push subscription keys if you enable push.
  • If you opt in to leaderboards and rank in a week, a snapshot (display name, avatar, rank) may be kept in our weekly archive. After account deletion, leaderboard snapshots and live weekly scores may remain for up to 14 days, then are purged automatically.

Deleting your account

Signed-in users can delete their account from Profile → Settings → Delete account.

Removed immediately: OAuth link, email, profile access, favorites, notifications, push subscriptions, achievements, and personal stats.

Leaderboard retention: If you opted in to leaderboards, your display name, avatar, and weekly scores may remain visible on the live leaderboard and in weekly archive snapshots for up to 14 days after deletion. After that window, our daily cleanup job removes those rows automatically.

This action cannot be undone once the retention window ends. It does not delete your Google or GitHub account — only the copy we hold.

For guest profiles, clear site data in your browser. You may also email mathieu.lievre.pro@outlook.com for help.

Third-party cosmetic assets (Steam & Discord)

FHC is intended for visitors who meet the 18+ age rating of For Honor. We do not target minors.

Minors — choose with a parent or guardian: If someone under 18 uses the site, a parent or legal guardian must be involved when they pick profile cosmetics and related settings — including avatar, banner, page background, decoration, title, visibility, leaderboard opt-in, and any other profile option. The same applies to guest / anonymous avatars and to browsing images and videos (static or animated) in FHC catalogs and on profiles. If a minor makes these choices without a parent or guardian, that is solely the responsibility of the user and their family — not the operator's.

Some profile content is not family-friendly.

What we review and manage: only guest / anonymous avatars (the classic picker for players without an account). That is the full scope of assets we actively curate.

What we do not curate: signed-in users may also pick from Steam- and Discord-indexed avatar catalogs and profile banners hosted on FHC. These come from public third-party sources. We do not individually review or manage every image or video in those catalogs.

Disclaimer: any distress, trauma, health-related reaction, or other positive or negative response from images or videos shown on FHC is not the operator's responsibility. You (and, for minors, your parent or guardian) choose what appears on your profile and what you view. If content bothers you, change your cosmetics or stop viewing it.

If you need help (UK):

  • 111 (NHS, 24/7) — non-urgent medical advice; can book or direct you to a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) or Urgent Treatment Centre. Many MIUs ask you to call 111 or the unit before attending.
  • 999 — life-threatening emergencies only. Do not use 111 in those cases.
  • 116 000 — European missing-children helpline (24/7) for non-urgent family support and guidance.

For asset issues on FHC (removal requests, guest avatars, icons we manage): mathieu.lievre.pro@outlook.com. For health or safety emergencies, use the numbers above — not FHC.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of services to run FHC:

  • Vercel — website hosting (Analytics disabled)
  • PostgreSQL (managed host, e.g. Neon) — accounts, runs, profiles, notifications
  • Upstash Redis — short-lived cache and rate limiting
  • Google / GitHub — optional sign-in only
  • Google Sheets — public codex/changelog export, server-side
  • Web Push providers (Apple, Google, Mozilla, etc.) — only if you enable push

They process data to operate the service, not to build ad profiles for us.

International transfers

Some of the providers above may process data in the United States or other countries outside the EU/EEA, including:

  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Google (OAuth, Sheets export infrastructure)
  • GitHub (OAuth)
  • Neon or equivalent Postgres host (database)
  • Upstash (Redis cache)
  • Apple / Google / Mozilla push services (if you enable notifications)

When this happens, we rely on their standard contractual safeguards (e.g. SCCs) where applicable.

Your rights

Under GDPR / RGPD you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable.

Use Delete account in your profile settings, or email mathieu.lievre.pro@outlook.com. You may also contact your supervisory authority (e.g. CNIL in France).
